The reason for this was because when we were expanding america, the colonists were trying to build towns and other things in the areas of the native Americans. So the colonists would chase out the native Americans and claim their territory.

And like anyone else who had their property stolen, they would be at least mad that it got taken from them so it created a conflict between the colonists and the native Americans.
