The EOC and the VOC varied in success at first considering the Dutch were the first to make trading ports on India and claimed all of Indonesia and even moved their trading assets there because it was less hostile. Meanwhile the EOC struggled at first, the only colonies in India they had were abandoned Dutch and the EOC was desperate even trying and failing Indonesia. Then the EOC won the battle of bengal over the Mughal empire and then later colonized all of India and surrounding areas.
