If a pumpkin weighs 50 pounds and you cut 25% of the pumpkin and took out all the pulp which is 30% of it's weight how much does it weigh now?

Explanation:

Given: weight of pumpkin is 50 pounds

As 25
\% of the pumpkin been cut,

=
(25)/(100) * 50 = 12.5 \textrm pounds


W_1
12.5 \textrm pounds is now reduced.

As now total pulp been took out, which is 30
\% of it´s weight

=
(30)/(100) * 50 = 15 \textrm pound.


W_2 is now reduced
15 \textrm

Now, taking out the weight of pumpkin after pumpkin been cut and pulp been taken out.

Pumpkin weight=
50 -(W_1 + W_2)
= 50 -(12.5 + 15)

Pumpkin weight =
50- 27.5 = 22.5\txetrm pounds

∴ Now the pumpkin weight is
22.5 \textrm pounds
