Explanation:

Using A as the variable then B received 2A votes and C received A - 15, 000

Given the total number of votes was 109, 000, then

A + 2A + A - 15000 = 109000, that is

4A - 15000 = 109000 ( add 15000 to both sides )

4A = 124000 ( divide both sides by 4 )

A = 31000

Then B received 2 × 31000 = 62000 votes
