Why are most plants and some algae green?

Answer:

Algae have chloroplasts that contain chlorophyll A and B, giving them a bright green color, as well as a necessary pigments beta carotene(red-orange) and xanthophyllis (yellow)is stacked thylakoids.Plants look green because they absorb red light most efficiently and the green light is reflected.
