(a)Diameter of the platter = 24 cm

(b)The area of the circular platter is 452 .16 sq.cm

Explanation:

The length of the side of square = 24 cm

Now,as the circular platter FITS EXACTLY in the square box.

The diameter of the circular platter = Length of the Side of the box

or, the diameter of the platter = 24 cm

(b) 2 x Radius = Diameter

⇒ Radius = Diameter / 2 = 24 / 2 = 12 cm

or, radius of the platter = 12 cm

Area of the Circular Platter =
\pi (r)^2

Using π = 3.14, we get A =
3.14 * (12)^ 2 =  452.16

or A = 452 .16 sq.cm

Hence, the area of the circular platter is 452 .16 sq.cm
