2x+4(x-1)=2+4x.

Distribute the 4 into (x-1).

2x+4x-4=2+4x

Now add x’s

6x-4=2+4x

Solve for x.
(Move x to same side)

6x-4x-4=2+4x-4x.
Then do the same with -4.
2x-4+4=2+4.

2x=6

Divide 2 by both sides: 6/2

Your answer will be once divided : 3

Answer:

x = 3

Explanation:

First distribute

2x + 4x - 4 = 2 + 4x

combine like terms

6x - 4 = 2 + 4x

continue

2x - 4 = 2

add 4 to both sides

2x = 6

divide both sides by 2

x = 3
