The x value is
\frac{\text{length}-4}{6} \text { feet }

SOLUTION:

Given that, the perimeter of the front face of a rectangle is (16x – 2) feet.

The width is (2x – 5) feet.

We have to find the is value of x.

Perimeter of a rectangle is two times the sum of the length and breadth.

Now we know that,
\text { perimeter } = 2*(\text{width + length})

\begin{array}{l}{\rightarrow 16 x-2=2(2 x-5+\text { length })} \\\\ {\rightarrow 2(8 x-1)=2(2 x-5+\text { length })} \\\\ {\rightarrow 8 x-1=2 x-5+\text { length }} \\\\ {\rightarrow 8 x-2 x=1-5+\text { length } \rightarrow 6 x=\text { length }-4 \rightarrow x=\frac{\text { length }-4}{6}}\end{array}
