Answer: -2a + 16

Explanation:

Since "a-8" is in the parenthesis and -2 is outside the parenthesis, you must multiply -2 by (a-8). -2 multiplied by a will equal 2a since you don't know what variable a equals. Next, you multiply -2 and -8 which would equal positive 16. The reason why it is positive is because 2 negative numbers multiplied or divided would equal a positive number.
