For this case we propose a rule of three:

\frac {1} {3} gallon ------------>
\frac {2} {3} wall

x -------------------------------------> 1 wall

Where the variable "x" represents the amount of gallons of paint needed to cover the entire wall.

x = \frac {1 * \frac {1} {3}} {\frac {2} {3}}\\x = \frac {\frac {1} {3}} {\frac {2} {3}}\\x = \frac {3 * 1} {3 * 2}\\x = \frac {3} {6}\\x = \frac {1} {2}

Thus,
\frac {1} {2}of gallon of paint covers the entire wall.

Answer:

\frac {1} {2}gallon of paint covers the entire wall.
