Reception: In reception, the items that are involved are receptor molecules and cell surface receptors like G- protein-coupled receptors, receptor tyrosine kinase, enzyme-linked receptors.

Transduction: In transduction, the items involved are adenylyl cyclase, phosphorylation cascade, second messenger like cAMP, DAG and IP3.

Response: The response of cell signaling is the starting of molecular processes and the production of proteins.
