Benjamin Harrison was the 23rd president of the United States of America. He came from a very political family. His great-grandfather helped form the United States and his grand-father was the country's ninth president.
In 1888, he ran for president and won.
As president, Benjamin wanted all citizens to do well. He limited the power big companies had so smaller ones had a chance to grow. He also worked very hard to get African-Americans the rights they deserve.
Benjamin's ideas pushed the United States toward becoming the world power it is today. In his later years, Benjamin gave talks. He also wrote a book about how the government works.
He died at age 67 on March 13, 1901.
