Mario challenged Luigi to a 60 second coin rally. Luigi had 60 seconds to collect as many coins as possible. After 30 seconds, Luigi had collected 14 coins. After 60 seconds, Luigi had collected 55 coins. Find the slope of the line using Luigi's numbers. Write your answer as a fraction in simplest form. Use the slope formula or explain your answer using rise and run.

Answer:

(41)/(30)

Explanation:

Luigi had 60 seconds to collect as many coins as possible. After 30 seconds, Luigi had collected 14 coins.

After 60 seconds, Luigi had collected 55 coins.

Now, if we plot the number of coins collected by Luigi along the y-axis against the time she takes along x-axis then we will get a straight line.

The slope of the straight line is given by

(55 - 14)/(60 - 30) = (41)/(30) (Answer)

Therefore, this is the slope in fraction in simplest form.

We know, that the slope of a straight line between two points
(x_(1),y_(1)) and
(x_(2),y_(2)) is given by

(y_(1) - y_(2))/(x_(1) - x_(2))
