What are the endpoint coordinates for the midsegment of △PQR that is parallel to PQ¯¯¯¯¯? Enter your answer, as a decimal or whole number, in the boxes. ( , ) and ( , ) A triangle is graphed on a coordinate plane. The horizontal x-axis ranges from negative 5 to 5 in increments of 1. The vertical y-axis ranges from negative 5 to 5 in increments of 1. In triangle P Q R, the vertex labeled as P lies on begin ordered pair negative 3 comma 3 end ordered pair. The vertex labeled as Q lies on begin ordered pair 2 comma 1 end ordered pair. The vertex labeled as R lies on begin ordered pair negative 4 comma negative 2 end ordered pair.

Answer:

The endpoint co-ordinates for the mid-segment of Δ PQR that is parallel to PQ are, (-3.5 , 0.5) (for the midpoint of PR) and (-1 , -0.5) (for the midpoint of QR) respectively.

Explanation:

According to the question, in Δ PQR, the co-ordinates of P, Q and R are,

( - 3 , 3) , (2 , 1) and ( -4 , -2) respectively. Let, S and T be midpoints of PR and QR respectively. Then, the co-ordinates of S and T are,

(( -3 -4)/2 , (3 -2)/2)

= (-7/2 , 1/2) = (-3.5 , 0.5)

and,

((2-4)/2 ,(1-2)/2) = ( -1, -0.5) respectively

So, the endpoint co-ordinates for the midsegment of Δ PQR that is parallel to PQ are, (-3.5 , 0.5) (for the midpoint of PR) and (-1 , -0.5) (for the midpoint of QR) respectively.
