What makes the population growth of rabbits in a specific region and the population growth of people in the United States over the same span of years look so different? Why would we model the two populations using different types of equations?

Answer:

They look different because they can be used as ratios example: specific region, 18,000,000 and 54,000,000 for united states as used as a ratio 18,000,000:54,000,000 for both specific region and united states and ratio or even fraction (equation) and population.
