A biologist studying chimpanzees in the wild knows that young chimps have light brown faces and older chimps have dark gray faces. Chimp 1435 has a light brown face, so the biologist reasons that it's a young chimp. Is this induction or deduction.

Deduction because he deducted that the older chimps have darker faces (brown), and younger chimps have lighter faces (brown), so this means he saw a pattern of light brown faces associating with younger chimps. He got his answer by deducting the information he gathered.
