C) "Steve. I need you to take a 50% pay cut, but then you'll get a 80% raise in 6 months - so you'll

come out ahead!” If Steve presently makes $10 per hour, how much will he make after the cut?
After the raise? (Remember to calculate this using his post-cut salary.) Should he take this deal?

Answer:

This means Steve will be making about 5$ and hour for the next 6 months, after the 6 months he will be making 18$.

Overall if he continues to work the same job he will continue to make profit after 4 - 5 months.

Explanation:

10$ divided by 2 (50% cut) = 5$/h for 6 months

10 x 1.8 (80% raise) = 18$/h
