Katelyn earned $205 from a holiday job to buy winter clothes. She found several items she would like to buy, but is trying to decide if she has enough money to buy all the items she likes. She found two sweaters for $48 each and four pairs of pants for $34 each. She will have to pay 6 ½ % sales tax.

Answer:

Katelyn didn't have enough money to buy all the items.

As the cost of total item were exceeding from
\$ 205.

Explanation:

Lets find the cost of each items.

The cost of two sweaters =
2* \$48=\$96

Cost of four pairs of pants =
4 * \$34=\$136

Summation of the two =
\$(96+136)=\$232

Sales tax of
6\tfrac{1}{2}=
(13)/(2) percent of
\$232 =
(13)/(2* 100) * 232 =\$15.08

Adding all cost of items and sales tax Katelyn have to pay,

\$(96+136+15.08) =\$247.08

So Katelyn requires
\$247.08 to buy all the items.
