A carter charges $500 plus $30 per guest to carter a wedding. Walt and Traci don't want to spend more than $8000 on catering. Write and solve an inequality in terms of the numbers of guests, g, that can be invited.

The cost the caterer costs for the guests is $30g and the minimal charge of $500.

The total cost = 30g+500

30g+500 ≤ 8000

30g ≤ 7500

g ≤ 250

Therefore the maximum number of guests the couple can invite is 250
