Which does NOT represent a constant rate of change of 70 miles per hour for a car? Question 4 options: d = 70t, where d represents distance in kilometers and t represents time in hours. Answer:

A

Explanation:

Lets start with the las option: d=70t. If the car dirves at 70 mph, in 1 hr (t=1) it must have gone trough 70 miles (d=70). Lets replace d and t in the equation:

d=70t

70 = 70 (1) = 70

So, as it fits, the option is ok! So D is not the wrong one.

Now lets see option 3:

If the car rides 245 miles in 3.5 hours, we need to see the average miles done in 1 hour. We do this by dividing distance by time:

245 m/3.5 h = 70 mph

So, as it verifies our speed this question is not wrong.

The same happens with option 2 if we divide 140m/2h= 70mph and option 2 is not wrong.

What happens with option 1: d= 70t?

But the first option is equal to the last one, d = 70t which we saw is ok.

So, here you may have a mistake on the statement.
