An unmanned submarine ascends from the ocean floor at a rate of 2 meters per second. If the ocean floor is 4220 feet below sea level, write a linear equation that describes the altitude, a, of the submarine in terms of the number of seconds, t, that the submarine has been ascending.

Answer:

4220 - 2t = a

Explanation:

I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but the answer is right there. If you look at the problem and the answer, you might be able to figure out how it's done.

Answer:

a=4220-2t

This would be if we are finding the altitude of the submarine from the surface of the water(how many meters away from the surface it is). I don't know what it would be if you want to know from the bottom of the ocean.
