Answer:

The standard equation of line is y = x - 2

Explanation:

Given as for a line :

The line passes through points ( 3 , 1 )

The y- intercept of the line is - 2

Now, The equation of line in standard form

y = m x + c

where m is the slope of line

∵ y -intercept is - 2 so, x = 0

∴ - 2 = m × 0 + c

I.e c = - 2

So, equation of line with points ( 3 , 1 ) and constant c

y = m x + c

So, 1 = m × 3 - 2

or, m × 3 = 1 + 2

Or, m × 3 = 3

m = 1

So, the standard equation of line with slope 1

y = m x + c

or, y = 1 × x - 2

Hence The standard equation of line is y = x - 2 Answer
