The square of this number is the same as the number times 4. The number can be either 0 or 4

Solution:

Given that, I'm thinking of a number.

The square of this number is the same as the number times 4.

We have to find what could my number be

Now, let the number be n.

Then, according to the given information,

Square of n = 4 times of n

\begin{array}{l}{\rightarrow n^(2)=4 n} \\\\ {\rightarrow n^(2)-4 n=0}\end{array}

Taking "n" as common,

\rightarrow n(n-4)=0

Equating to 0, we get,

n = 0 or n – 4 = 0

n = 0 or n = 4

Hence, the number can be either 0 or 4.
