USING (f ± g)(x) = f(x) ± g(x)

To find:

(a) (f +g) (2) = f(2) + g(2)

= 5+ 3 = 8

⇒(f +g) (2) = 8

(b) (g- f) (-1) = g(-1) - f(-1)

= 0- (-3) = 0 + 3 = 3

(g- f) (-1) = 3
