How do we determine whether or not something is a function?

Answer:

Functions can only have one output

Explanation:

If we have a function of x and we input 2 and output 3 and 5, it is not a function. If 1 and 2 both output only 7, they would both be a function. Multiple inputs can have the same output and they are functions, but one input can not have multiple outputs.
