Answer:

There are many reasons can be happened behind it. But some specific reasons can be related to the problem

A) Reason for excessive burrs areas :

  • The clearance between punch and die is too large for the material and stock thickness
  • The punch and die cutting edges are worn which has the same effect as the excessive clearance.

B) To correct the problem

  • To check the problem in punch and die edge cutting
  • If they are reground the faces to sharpen the cutting edges, If the die is not worn, Measure the punch and die clearance to see if it equals the recommended value.
  • If not the die maker must re-fabricate the punch or die.
