One benefit of working while going to school, is you might have some extra money. Another benefit, is that you can apply your education, in your work. Another benefit is you have access to teachers in school to help explain something you need help with at work.

A drawback of working and going to school is that it will take up your time. You will have to discipline yourself in order to keep up. You may also be more tired because you have to stay up later to get everything done.

Working while attending school helps with responsibility and managing your time. Studies have shown that students who participated in extracurricular activities after school, managed their time better since they were "forced" to complete their work in a short amount of time. Students who did not participate, were more lazy and procrastinated because they knew they had more time to complete their work. Work helps students with responsibility in being on time to work, communicating with customers (depending on the job), and working on your social skills. Making your own money is rewarding and helps you better understand the economy and taxes.
