Explanation:

Let the total number of athletes = y

Let the number of all baseball athletes = b

Let the number of all basketball athletes = k

Let the number of all football athletes = f

The ratio b: k : f is given by:

15 : 12 : 8

Total proportion = 15 + 12 + 8

= 35

The ratio of all baseball player = 15/ 35

= 3/7

Number of baseball player = 3/7 of y

= 3y/7

The means the three- seventh ( close to half) of the total athletes play baseball ball.
