Answer:24 ways

Explanation:

Let
n_(1) be the number of ways for choosing first prize.

Let
n_(2) be the number of ways for choosing second prize.

Let
n_(3) be the number of ways for choosing third prize.

The first prize can be decied in
4 ways beacuse there are
4 cyclists.

So,
n_(1)=4

Since the first prize is already decided, the second prize can be decided in
4-1=3 ways.

So,
n_(2)=3

Since the first two prizes are already decided, the third prize can be decided in
4-2=2 ways.

So,
n_(3)=2

Total number of ways is
n_(1)* n_(2)* n_(3)=4* 3* 2=24 ways
