Answer:

The answer is (B) Cluster sampling. It can also be referred to as area sampling method. it is useful when the population consists of a large number of similar groups which are wide spreading. Population is usually divided into clusters based on geographical reasons. The sampling units are grouped rather than individual at first stage . A sample of such clusters is the selected and the the elements from the selected clusters are studied. An advantage is that it cut down the cost of preparing a sampling frame or travel and other administrative costs. The best result occurs when elements within clusters are internally heterogeneous.
