The perimeter of the hexagon is 6 times the length of its side, i.e.


6\cdot 3 = 18

This is the best approximation of the circumference you can give. If you want better approximations, you can increase the number of sides of the inner polygon: as the number of sides approaches infinity, the approximation will become the exact value.
