Justin has 23 one dollar bills. He wants to give each of his 3 children the same number of bills. How many bills can he give each child? How many bills will Justin have remaining?

Answer:

If Justin give's each of his children 7 one dollar bills, He will have 2 one dollar bill remaining

Explanation:

since he has 3 children he have to divide 23 by 3 so we count until we get a number close to 23 but not greater because we have to subtract that number from 23

Now that we found our number closest to 23 without going greater than 23 we subtract it from 23

so that's how we got the remaining amount of money but we count how many time's we multiplied to get 21, that's 7 which is the amount each children gets.
