A store sells a shirt in 6 different colors. The shirts are displayed on 3 shelves. On each shelf there are 2 shirts of each color.Which can be used to find the total number of shirts on the shelfs?

Answer:

(6 x 2) /3

Explanation:

(6 x 2) / 3

(Six times two) divided by three

Use Pemdas.

Parenthesis-Exponents-Multiplication-Division-Addition-Subtraction

6 multiplied by 2 equals 12

12 divided by 3 equals 4.

There are 4 shirts on each shelf.

On the other hand though, if this question is looking for the total amount of shirts in general, it would be 12.
