Ryan has to use 12 cups of water with 6 scoops of fruit mix

Solution:

Given that, Ryan is making a fruit drink.

The directions say to mix 3 cups of water with
1(1)/(2) scoops of powdered fruit mix.

We have to find how many cups of water should he use with 6 scoops of fruit mix

Let "n" be the number of cups required for 6 scoops of fruit mix

3 cups of water ⇒
1(1)/(2) scoops of fruit mix.

Then, n cups of water ⇒ 6 scoops of fruit mix

So, by criss cross multiplication,

6 * 3=n * 1 (1)/(2)

Converting the mixed fraction, we get,

\begin{array}{l}{\rightarrow 18=n * (3)/(2)} \\\\ {\rightarrow n=(2)/(3) * 18} \\\\ {\rightarrow n=2 * 6} \\\\ {\rightarrow n=12}\end{array}

Hence, Ryan has to use 12 cups of water
