A recipe requires 1/4 cup of sugar for each 5/8 cup of flour. How many cups of sugar are needed for each cup of flour

5/8 cups of floor should have 1/4 cups of sugar

For finding need for 1 cup of floor, we will multiply both fractions by 8/5

5/8 * 8/5 cups of floor = 1/4 * 8/5 cups of sugar

4 will be cancelled out with 8 giving 2

1 cup of floor = 2/5 cups of sugar

So each cup of flour will need 2/5 cups of sugar.
