Multiply-

Take the term multiply it with each variable or number and add with the product of the second term multiplied with the variable and number, as so:

x * 2 = 2x

-7 * x = -7x

x^2 + 2x -7x - 14

Combine like terms

x^2 -5x - 14

To confirm

-14

-7 and 2 go into -14 and add to -5
