multiply second equation by 3

3× (2x+y) = -3 ➡ 6x+3y = -6 then add it to first equation

3x - 3y + 6x + 3y = -9-6 ➡9x = -15 ➡x = -5/3

use this to find value of y

2×(-5/3) +y = -3 ➡ -10/3 +y = -3 ➡ y = -3 + 10/3 ➡ y = 1/3
