Total number of players = p

Out of 12 total player 12 choose a bottle of water which is
(3)/(4) of the total number of players and hence the equation will be:


12 =
(3)/(4)\ ofp\\


12 =(3)/(4) * p\\12 = (3p)/(4)

By cross multiplication:


3p =12*4\\3p =48

Dividing both sides by 3


p = 16

Therefore, the the total number of players at the baseball game is 16.
