Answer:

x = 2 1/4 or 9/4

Explanation:

First:

8-3÷2x=1/2+x

5÷2x=1/2+x

Then move 1/2 over to the other side so reverse the operation

5÷2x=1/2+x

-1/2 -1/2

Now move the "2x" with division sign over to the other side by multiplying

4 1/2÷2x=x

×2x ×2x

4 1/2=2x

Divide both sides by 2

4 1/2=9/2÷2/1 (reverse/flip2/1)=9/2×1/2=9/4 or simplified, 2 1/4

Answer: x=9/4 or 2 1/4
