Distance = velocity / time

Time = distance × time

From the graph, the slope at any point determines the velocity of the object at that point.

Slope =( y2 -y1)/ ( x2 -x1)

y2 = 5(corresponding to the point on the vertical axis where t = 2.5 on the horizontal meets the plotted line when traced along the vertical axis)

y 1 = 0 (initial distance)

x2 = 2.5( on the horizontal axis)

x1 = 0(initial time)

Velocity = slope = (5-0)/2.5-0)= 5/2.5
