The slope of the parallel line to the given line y = 2x -2 is 2

Solution:

Given, line equation is y = 2x – 2

We have to find the slope of a line that is parallel to the above given line.

Now, let us find the slope of the given line,

As we can see the given line is in the form of slope intercept form

y = mx + c where m is the slope and c is the intercept of the line.

So, by comparison, slope of the given line is 2.

Now, we know that, slopes of parallel lines are equal then, slope of our required line is also 2

Hence, the slope of the parallel line to the given line is 2.
