Now, let the common ratio of AM:MB = x

Length of AM + Length pf MB = Length of AB

or, x + 2x = 7.5

or, 3x = 7.5

⇒ x = 7.5/3 = 2.5

or the common ration value = 2.5

Hence, the length of AM = 2.5 units

and the length of MB = 2 x = 5 units

So, the coordinate of M = -1.5 + 2.5 = 1 unit
