Answer:

The number of Dimes is 14 and The number of quarters is 15

Explanation:

Given as :

The total number of coins = 29

The value of the changes = 515 cents

Let the number of dimes = D

Let the number of quarters = Q

According to question

D + Q = 29 .......1

And ∵ 1 Dimes = 10 cents

1 Quarter = 25 cents

So, 25 Q + 10 D = 515 ........... 2

From eq 1 and 2

( 25 Q + 10 D ) - ( 10 D + 10 Q ) = 515 - 290

Or, 15 Q = 225

∴ Q = 15

Again ,

D = 29 - 15

∴ D = 14

Hence The number of Dimes is 14 and The number of quarters is 15 Answer
