Answer:

The number of slice of apple pie gave to his friend =
(5)/(6)

Explanation:

Given as :

The total apple pies bought by James = 14

The number of apple pie given to family = 5

So, The number of pie given to his friends = 14 - 5 = 9

Let the pie given to friends is cut into equal slices = x

So, x =
(1)/(6) of 14

Or, x =
(7)/(3)

∵ From 14 apple pie, the number of slices make is
(7)/(3)

∴ From 5 apple pie, the number of slices make is
((7* 5)/(3* 14))

Hence The number of slice of apple pie gave to his friend =
(5)/(6) Answer
