$ 9^2 + 4 * 7 - 3 $ we would get
$ 81 + 28 - 3 = 106 $.

Next,
$ 5^2 - 4 + 7 * 3 $. This could be written as:
$ 25 - 4 + 21 = 42 $. Hence the answers.
