Suppose you bought a ticket to a baseball game. The ticket is nonrefundable (and can't be resold) and must be used on Saturday. Then, a friend calls and invites you to a football game on Saturday. You only have time to attend one of the events, and your friend offers to pay the cost of going to the football game. If you prefer football games over baseball games, then you should attend the ___________ (baseball game / football game).

Answer:

In that particular scenario given the suppositions, the free attendance by a friend and the existence of an established preference (football games) I should attend the football game with no further doubts, even though I have bought a ticket for baseball games already.
