The slope of the line that passes through (10,8) and (9, 13) is – 5

Solution:

Given, two points are (10, 8) and (9, 13)

We have to find the slope of a line that passes through the above given two points.

Slope of a line that pass through
\left(\mathrm{x}_(1), \mathrm{y}_(1)\right) \text { and }\left(\mathrm{x}_(2), \mathrm{y}_(2)\right) is given as:

\mathrm{m}=(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

\text { Here, in our problem, } x_(1)=10, y_(1)=8 \text { and } x_(2)=9, y_(2)=13

\text { slope } m=(13-8)/(9-10)=(5)/(-1)

=(-5)/(1)=-5

Hence, the slope the line that passes through the given points is – 5
