if angle a is 50 degrees and angle b is 2x degrees andangle c is (5y+10) degrees, what is the value of y?

Answer:

y = 24 - 2x / 5

Explanation:

I assume it is a triangle since there is 3 angles.

Triangle's three angles add up to 180 degrees.

So,

> 50 + 2x + 5y + 10 = 180

> 60 + 2x + 5y = 180

We will subtract 60 from both sides, to get rid of 60 in the left side.

> 2x + 5y = 120

To isolate 5y, we will subtract 2x from both sides.

> 5y = 120 - 2x

To isolate y further, we will divide by 5 from both sides.

> y = 120 / 5 - 2x / 5

> y = 24 - 2x / 5
