Jessica picked 40 apples. She gave 15 apples away. What percent of the apples does Jessica still have?

Please help im begging right now. I need the work and explanation on how u got it im counting on you guys this is a word problem. Im in middle school (6th grade) i dont know why it says im in high school.

Ill make it 30 points. JUST PLEASEEE

Answer:

62.5%

Explanation:

40-15=25 apples left

25 apples/40 total=5/8 or 0.625

Translating that to a percent, we get 62.5% of the total apples left

Okay so 15 apples=37.5%. if we substract that 37.5% out of the full 100%, we get 62.50%. Meaning that Jessica has 62.70%.
