Multiplication operation is used when asked to find one-tenth as large as another number

Solution:

Given that, We have to find what operation would we use when asked to find one – tenth as large as another number

In the given statement "one – tenth as large as another number " means a number is 1/10 times as large as another number" Here we have to use multiplication operation

Now, let another number be "a", and the resulting number be "b"

Then, "b" is one – tenth as large as "a"

\begin{array}{l}{\rightarrow \mathrm{b} \text { is } (1)/(10) \text { as large as a }} \\\\ {\rightarrow \mathrm{b}=(1)/(10) \text { as large as a }} \\\\ {\rightarrow \mathrm{b}=(1)/(10) * \mathrm{a}}\end{array}

So, here we used multiplication operation to find the result.
